It's a miracle!
It's a miracle! I am 45 years old and have tried every product over the years... my mom used to put everything imaginable on my fingernails to keep them out of my mouth, my grandma tried to pay me to grow my fingernails out, but still here I was at 45 with horrible nails. This has been a miracle. I can't describe the taste but will just say that it makes me not want my hands anywhere near my face. Yes, it is difficult to eat finger food with this on... I went to Florida recently and had to have my husband peel my shrimp for me :-) But, it is a small price to pay to break this habit. Photos are before and 2 weeks after using this product. I know they aren't long and beautiful yet... but they are beautiful to me :-) and the longest they have ever been in my life!

Wow
This is it. The answer. Finally! We had a very, very strong stubborn 4 year old thumb sucker. We tried everything, and got in constant arguments about it. It was a terrible cycle. We had tried a polish before that he would just suck off, so I didn't have high hopes for this, and I didn't want to pay this much but finally I caved one day. When we first put it on him, we also put it on our nails to see what it was like and WOW! It tasted like nail polish remover and metal, and the taste would just stay in your mouth. It was really, really terrible. My son immediately tried wiping his tounge on everything to get the taste out. It literally only took one day and he quit sucking his thumb. The polish lasts about a week, and we made sure to reapply because we know we should be consistent for at least a month just to make sure the habit is really gone. So moral of the story, this is the answer we, and you, have been waiting for! It's worth every penny.

AMAZING for toddler thumb suckers , but 1 BIG issue & 2 GREAT tips!
My daughter was CONSTANTLY sucking her thumb as of late and it was driving us nuts, as I didn't want that habit to get worse as she got older. Some say they grow out of it, some not sure, either way I didn't want it to become a big issue when her adult teeth came in. When it arrived, I put a layer on each thumb later that evening. As my wife and I later witnessed her post Mavala taste, I felt bad due to the look of disgust on her face. A few seconds later, she said "tummy hurt", as she soon later laid on the sofa. I saw her do it again shortly after then about 4 minutes later, as I was busy in the kitchen, my wife was yelling for help, as my daughter began vomiting all over. Luckily, we had a blanket, as I will spare the details and cleanup. My wife and I felt horrible!!! I was not sure if to try again or what, as I did not want another episode of that again!!! Once was enough! So two days later, as directions say, this time I applied only a tiny amount ONLY on the tips of her thumbs, and did not put an entire coat as I did prior. Since that episode, she only tried a few times, but she is no longer a thumb sucker, nor do we ever see her try as of late. We still apply it ever 2 days at night, when she is sleeping and passed out. That way, she knows no better and does not put up a fight if she realized the root of the taste deterrent. May just continue applying for a few weeks, just in case. TIP 1: FIRST try on an empty stomach the 1st time (just in case) TIP 2: TRY applying only a smidgen on each finger as needed. (For us it is more than enough to deter my daughter) As a buyer I often rely on the reviews of other buyers when making my purchases. So I always try to give my honest, unbiased opinion. Stick with it.
This product says “not suitable for children under 3.” However, my 22 month old toddler sucks two fingers (the middle and ring fingers) at a really odd angle. It has become a blocker when trying to get her to verbalize almost anything. This habit has also started pushing her front teeth forward, and on top of that, she has literally sucked blisters where her teeth constantly rub along her fingers. We had to outweigh the risks of using this product for our child who is not even two, to the benefits (with consulting both our doctor and local ABA clinic.) Results: It worked in two days flat. We are on day three and my child has not attempted to suck her fingers. She is suddenly verbal and talking up a gibberish storm. I am able to get her to mimic words and mand for objects appropriate to her age level of understanding. She’s interacting with her peers when she would previously just observe while sucking on her fingers. The process: I first applied a drop on my thumb to taste it. The best description i can give as far as flavor is that it is similar to the acrid aftertaste you tend to get after vomiting. It’s definitely unpleasant and sticks around in your mouth. This product would be strong enough to induce vomiting in some children and adults, so take those reviews you may have read about people getting sick seriously. Due to the strong taste, I only applied a small rice-grain-size drop on my child’s middle finger 3 hours before bed. She reacted to the taste with a whine and withdrew her fingers. She attempted several more times, each time making faces, trying to wipe it off her tongue, drooling, and fussing at me. At dinner time, I helped her use her opposite hand to eat so that she wouldn’t have the flavor mixed with her food (because she eats with the same hand). However, the real challenge came that night. After 6 strong, determined attempts, she managed to overcome the flavor and suck her fingers. Keep in mind that she only had a tiny application of this product and also had a bath prior to bed. She did have several moments of making faces and general disgust each attempt before finally succeeding in her crib. The next morning, i applied a single thin layer of polish to both finger nails. She initially threw a 4 hour tantrum, complete with ear-piercing screams. She also dry-heaved one good time after attempting to suck her fingers during a pause in her fit. After that episode, she seems to have finally just given up. I have yet to see her attempt any finger sucking since. Bottom line: This product works, but take it in steps and use your best judgment. This product is NOT for the weak minded who can’t stick with commitment.

Get this brand!!!
I had previously purchased another brand which our four year old daughter proceeded to just suck right off of your thumb and proudly proclaimed that she was still sucking her thumb. Researched and purchased this brand and oh boy was she not happy. This stuff is very strong. She has given up trying to repetitively wash her hands to get the taste off. I have found that it is best for us to apply at night when she is sleeping. Do not apply for the first time right before a meal that has finger food. Your child will really hate you and complain that it makes all of the food taste bad. I’ve found that it is very strong and can affect the food she picks up using her fingers but after a couple hand washes she didmt mention the food thing again. It’s been 6 days since I started using it and she hasn’t sucked her thumb. It is strong enough that It is effective even when I only apply every other night. Much better than the other Brad that I had purchased (which had decent reviews)

I absolutely love this product
I absolutely love this product. My daughter has been sucking her 3 fingers since birth. She was doing it all day every day! Her dentist told us that it was starting to impact her teeth and he recommend that we use this product when she was 2 years old. I tried it when she turned 2 and after a day she sucked right through the horrible taste. I read that when kids are younger they don’t fully have their taste buds, so I tried it again at age 3 and it worked!!! I tried everything to get her to stop sucking her fingers and this is what worked. She even started coming to me to tell me to put it on her fingers so she wouldn’t suck them. I started off putting it on her fingers every night, then to every other night. She’s doing so well now that I stop putting it on all together. But now I’m starting to notice at night time while sleep she starting to put her fingers in her mouth, so I’ll be ordering some more. Oh and before putting it on her fingers, I tried it myself and the taste is horrible, it kinds of makes you feel bad for putting it on their hands, but it’s worth it!!

Nail saver!
My 8 year old started biting his nails when he started kindergarten. That's when he started to show signs of anxiety and then he just picked up the habit ever since. I've tried everything to no luck. I saw this one day when I googled and then I read the reviews. I decided to buy and try on the hope that this should work. When I received it I tried on my own nail and tasted it. Ughhh! It's gross and strong so I knew it would work. I applied it to his nails and on his cuticles since he bites that too. He tried to bite and was so frustrated because of the taste but day by day he learned it would be best not to bite than to taste the polish. It took a full week to start seeing results. It's been 6 weeks. This polish is a nail saver. My son's hands no longer look horrible. His nails look healthy and are growing in good and you can't tell he was a biter. Not only does his hands look good, I have noticed that he has a lil more confidence knowing he doesn't need to bite his nails.

but I knew by how much she had her thumb in there it was going to be an epic battle to get over the habit and it was only going to get worse with time
I had a serial thumb sucker about to turn 3. Everything I read suggested giving the kid until then to see if they stopped on their own, but I knew by how much she had her thumb in there it was going to be an epic battle to get over the habit and it was only going to get worse with time. I started by trying to reason with a 2 year old. Did mom suck her thumb... no, Dad.... no, grandma.... no, and on. She actually thought about it once before resuming. Then I tried calling her out every single time she had her thumb in her mouth to get it out. She won. Then I tried band aids. That actually worked until she was out of my sight and ripped them off. I was about to buy those thumby things that are like mittens for your thumb I found when googling how to get your kid to stop sucking their thumb as I had looked into this type of product before and read the reviews and thought she loves her thumb too much, she'll just start to like the flavor, but really didn't want to spend that type of money on something she could just rip off when not in sight. So I finally bought this product. I told her what was coming in the mail, how I was going to put it on like nail polish, how it would taste bad if she put it in her mouth. Every day I told her how many days until it delivered. Then it arrived, I pained a little on (reading the barfing review made me nervous) and made sure she ate with a fork from then on. Guess what, she didn't even want to try it (in front of me) for over 2 days. So I didn't even reapply. I caught her in the car on the 3rd day and put some more on (thought she would protest knowing that would stop her but she was fine). That was the final application. I am scared to write this and have waited a month to do so, but I am happy to say we no longer have a thumb sucker! Please buy this is you are looking for something to help, it worked like a charm for us. And I will end by saying I buy almost everything online based off of reviews but have never left one myself because who has time for that, but I am SO HAPPY with this product and it's quick results that I had to break my streak and tell you to buy it too :)

Product Works for Nail Biting - 33 y/o Male
This product works if you stick with it. I'm a 33 y/o male and have been a nail biter my entire life. It stops nail biting in its tracks. However, you have to stick with it. If you stop applying it you will relapse. I did so over Christmas while I was out of town with my inlaws (imagine that). I wasn't discouraged and simply started over. Nail biting is 100% triggered by anxiety and once you start, it is hard as hell to stop. It takes about 2 weeks to start seeing the whites grow back on your nails. This will feel very foreign and strange to a lifetime nail biter. File the nails and clip the nails leaving just a bit of white. Remember the goal is to let the nailbed grow back and the whites have nothing to do with it. The nail bed was destroyed by the ripping motion of habitual biting. I've read that it takes about a year of no biting to restore the nail bed. You can do, just keep applying this product, it is very bitter and you will instantly remember not to bite. KEEP APPLYING daily or every other day. You will get a glossy look to your nails but other people won't notice unless they are way up in your business and in that case... screw those guys.

I'm very happy with the product
I bought this for my 15yo and 9yo. Ny 15 yo has the awful habit of bitting beyond the white line. His fingers are always inflames at the tip and red. It was awful. I put this on him even though he was mad ad thought it was "girly" to put polish on him lol. Within a day or two he asked me to remove it because it had an awful taste... negative. I have applied it over the course of 2 weeks... he still hates me but his nails are growing and his fingers do not look inflamed or damaged. I bought the double pack but wish i had only bought one. It applies very thin coating. I'm very happy with the product...EXTREMELY actually. Finally his nail bitting has stopped.
